"A New Ranger"

"This room looks fabulous.", said Carri Hillard

"You said you were coming to live with us, so I thought I would give it a few personal touches.", replied her cousin, Katherine Hillard

"I'm thrilled I get to graduate from Angel Grove High.", Carri said, "Poor Josh. He had to graduate from Westside County High."

"Yeah. Oh well. We're all glad to have you here.", said Kat

"Yup. I'm sure you'll get along with everyone. And it helps that you already know your way around." said Tanya Sloan

"You'd better believe it. Well, I guess I'd better get some sleep. It's already 11:30 and tomorrow's the first day of our senior year.", said Carri

"You're right. 'Night.", wished Kat

"'Night", Tanya said

Carri shut the door as Kat and Tanya left. As she crawled into the bed she wondered what her first day back would be like.

Knock knock!

"Come on Carri, we're going to be late!", yelled Kat

"Alright, coming.", replied a grumpy Carri

Carri went downstairs and started out the door. She was going to walk to school with Kat and Tanya.

"Since we don't have any time before school, I'll introduce you to everyone at lunch.", said Kat

"Lunch is bad. I've got to go talk to the principal.", Carri told her "He wants to meet the new Hillard in the school."

"What he wants to do is to make sure it's you and not Josh repeating the 12th grade for the 2nd time.", Kat teased and both she and Carri laughed.

"Ok, I give. Who is this Josh guy you keep talking about?", asked a curious Tanya

"He's my older brother.", Carri told her

Tanya nodded. Kat thought for a moment. ⦣128;œHow about you meet us at the Youth Center and I'll introduce you there."

"The Youth Center. Gosh, how long has it been since I was there.", said Carri

"Since the last time Josh kicked you out saying he didn't want to be seen with you in there.", joked Kat

Carri laughed. "True. Anyway, I'll be there. I'm dying to meet your friends.", she told her

"Alright then." said Kat

The girls walked the rest of the way in silence, each deep in their own thoughts.

"Here we are. I'll see you later.", Kat said

"Bye.", said Carri

"Bye.", said Tanya as she waved

Second period already? Carri thought as she skipped off to her next class. She walked into the room with 1 minute before the bell. There was only one seat left, so naturally she sat in it.

She felt a tap on her shoulder, so she turned around. "Yes?"

"Hi, I'm Skull. This is Bulk.", he said pointing to the overweight guy sitting next to him

"Hi.", said Bulk

"And your name would be...", started Skull

"Carri."

"You know, you look awfully familiar.", said Skull

"Is that some sort of pick up line or something?", she asked

"No, I'm serious. Wait a minute, you're Carri Hillard, aren't you?", he said

"Yeah, why?", she wanted to know

"You were in that movie, Bulk don't you remember?"

"Yeah, it was called Revenge."

"How did you guys know that. I was in there long enough to get shot. They didn't even show my face.", she said with a puzzled look on her face

"Well, if you pause the movie in just the right spot, we can see you.", Skull told her, "Then all we had to do was look at the credits."

"Hey, don't remind me of that. I hate the movie business. I only did the roll 'cause my dad wanted me to.", Carri said

"Your dad's that producer guy, Jonathan, right?", asked Skull

"Yes. Now if you don't mind, I'd like to put everything about my dad, New York and the movie business behind me and concentrate on the present and make up for all I've missed out on.", she said

"My deepest apologies. I will never mention it again.", Skull apologized

"Thank you." she said

Across the room, Rocky DeSantos couldn't help but notice the girl that just walked into the room.

"Hey Tommy, do you know her?" he asked his friend

"Nope. She must be new.", Tommy Oliver answered him

"I've got to go meet her." Rocky said

Bring!

"It will have to wait.", Tommy told him

The morning flew by. Carri was so happy to be back in Angel Grove, she wasn't really paying attention to anything else. At the end of gym, she walked with Kat to their 5th period language class together.

"I hate this.", Carri started, "Two seats left and at other sides of the room."

"Oh well. You want the back or the front?", Kat asked

"Back. You're the one who gets along with teachers the best."

"Thanks.", Kat said sarcastically

Carri went to the back seat, just two rows away from Rocky

"Hey Rocky, what are you looking at?" asked his best friend, Adam Park

"Her.", said Rocky as he pointed to Carri

Tommy looked up and saw it was the same girl from history.

"Oh. You going to talk to her?", Adam wondered

"During lunch.", Rocky told him

Bring!

Rocky walked out of the classroom and headed to the lunchroom. He looked all over for the girl, but didn't see her anywhere. He wondered over to where Adam was sitting, looking rather depressed.

"Come on, let's go. We don't have all that much time if we want to finish that program.", Rocky said

"Struck out, didn't you?", Adam said smiling

"No. I can't find her.", Rocky complained

"Oh. Well, you'll eventually talk to her."

"Yeah, you're right." Rocky said

"Come on. Let's head to the computer lab.", Adam said hopping out of his seat

Carri went through lunch and math, still in the same good mood, even though those two weirdos sat next to her again. What were their names? Oh yeah. Bulk and Skull. Anyway. As she walked into chemistry class, she saw Kat. She went over and nabbed the seat next to her.

"Hey.", said Carri

"Hello." replied Kat

"Front row?"

"Only seats I could get. I would've grabbed some by my friends, but there was no room."

"It's ok. I'll meet them soon enough. I just have to get through chem class."

"Oh, you'll like chemistry. Mrs. Applebee is really nice."

"You've had her?"

"Math last year. She teaches 2 subjects, and has a degree in three."

"Oh"

"Hey, isn't that the girl over there that's talking to Kat?", Tommy said as he tapped Rocky on the shoulder and pointed at her

"Yeah, that's her.", Rocky said smiling

"Why don't you go talk to Kat after class.", Tommy suggested

"Oh, believe me, I will.", Rocky said

Bring!

"I'm going to go talk to Mrs. Applebee. I'll see you at the Youth Center." Kat told Carri

"Ok.", Carri agreed

"Are we going to the Youth Center?", asked Rocky

"You got anywhere else to go?", Tommy asked

"You're right. We can go in just one second. I have to talk to Kat now.", Rocky said

Rocky waited until the room cleared and the 2 boys were left in the room with Kat and the teacher. Rocky walked up to Kat while Tommy stayed a few steps back.

"Hey Kat, I've got something I need to talk to you about.", Rocky said

"Not now. I have to talk to Mrs. Applebee. I'll talk to you at the Youth Center.", Kat told him. "It can wait, can't it?"

"Yeah. I guess so." a saddened Rocky said. "Come on Tommy, let's go find Adam." he said quickly brightening up

It didn't take Carri very long to get to the Youth Center. She could never forget where that place was. She walked in and over to Ernie to grab a soda.

"Hey Ernie. Let me have a soda.", she told him

Ernie turned around. "Do I know... Little Carri Hillard?"

"Well, I'm not so little anymore.", she said

"I can see that." Ernie said as he was getting the soda. "So, what brings you here?"

"I figured I could attempt a little history until Kat got here. Then I was going to meet her friends."

Ernie chuckled. "Really though."

"Well, I flew in from New York and I'm going to stay with Kat here in Angel Grove. That way I can graduate from Angel Grove High like I've always wanted." she explained

"Well, that's great news. I hope to see you here often.", Ernie said

"You can count on it." Carri told him as she grabbed her soda and walked away Carri went to the first open table she saw. She took a sip of her soda, then pulled out her history book. Ug, history. Ok, let's see here. She started to scan the page. Why do they have to make history books so complex? This sucks.. Carri struggled to get through page 1. It seemed like forever before she ever saw page 2.

Rocky, Adam and Tommy all came into the door at once.

"One at a time next time?" suggested Tommy and the 3 boys laughed

They all grabbed a table, two down for Carri. Rocky looked up and saw her.

"Look, there she is.", whispered Rocky

"Where?" said Adam as he turned to stare

"Don't stare!", Rocky ordered at he hit his friend

"Why don't you go talk to her?", wondered Tommy

"I don't know....", Rocky started

"Rocky DeSantos, it's not like you to get shy.", Adam said

"You're right. I'll go over there.", Rocky said, very determined

Just then, Tanya and Kat came over.

"Hey guys!", they both said together

"Hello." they said at once

"Guys, remember I told you that my cousin was moving to town?", Kat asked

"Yeah.", said Tommy

"Well, she's here, and I'd like for you to meet her.", Kat said

"Um, can I do this at another time. I've got something I've got to do.", Rocky asked

"Come on Rocky, it'll only take a minute.", Kat pleaded

"Is she nearby?", Rocky wanted to know

"Yes.", Kat said

"Oh, alright.", Rocky gave in

Kat dragged the boys up and took them over to Carri's table.

"You guys, this is my cousin, Carri.", Kat introduced them

"Hi.", Carri said

"Um, hi. I'm Rocky, and this is Adam and Tommy."

"Nice to meet you."

"She's your cousin?", Rocky whispered to Kat

Kat nodded her head yes.

"Well, you guys can sit down you know.", Carri said

Rocky casually rushed to the seat on Carri's left. Beside Rocky was Adam, then Tanya, Tommy, and to Carri's left, Kat.

"History. Yuck.", said Tommy noticing the open book

"Tell me about it. I can barley get through one page, let alone a whole chapter.", Carri complained

"So, you guys don't even look related.", Rocky said still amazed that this girl was Kat's cousin

"I've got two brunettes for parents. What can I say. She has a blond mother.", Carri explained

"So your fathers are related?", Tommy asked

"Yes. Brothers.", answered Kat

"So, how long are you going to be here for?", Rocky wanted to know

"Well, I'm registered in Angel Grove High, so I guess that means I have to stay at least through my senior year.", Carri told him

"You going home after that?", Rocky asked

"Hopefully not.", Carri said

"That's an awesome jersey. Where did you get it?", Adam asked, noticing the MTV Rock 'N' Jock jersey she was wearing

"That's a long story. Let me give you the short end of it. My dad got a couple of free tickets to the 6th Rock 'N' Jock. He gave them to me and my boyfriend. They were pretty close seats too. Anyway, after the game I went over to the Homeboys side and decided I wanted to jump the fence to meet Dan Cortese." Carri started with her long story

"What about security?", Tanya wanted to know

"That's exactly what David said. They were too busy with Pamela Anderson to even know I was there. So I jumped over and introduced myself to Dan. He almost called security, but he stopped when he recognized the name. He was like, "Your dad produced my last movie." Hey, sometimes it's good to get recognized. Although only not many people have ever even known the name. And hopefully that will be all.", she continued on with the story

"Your dad's a producer?", Adam said with a shocked look on his face

"Yeah. It sucks. It's what took me away from Angel Grove. I like it here. But anyway, back to Dan. I told him how much I love his work and how I thought he was pretty good. So he's like, "You really like my work?" Of corse I told him yes. So, to show how cool he thought I was, he took off his jersey and signed it. Then he proceeded to give it to me.", Carri finished

"I'd say that's pretty lucky. I'd love to wear one of those jerseys. Naturally, I'd be playing to get one. Right field.", Rocky said

"I'll be right there with you buddy. I'll be the only Rock 'N' Jock player to hit for the cycle and get two extra homers.", Adam let everyone know of his future accomplishments

"You two have pretty high hopes.", Tanya said

"We can't help it. We're just good.", Adam said, teasing his girlfriend

"So I guess one day I'll be slipping by security to ask for you guy's autographs.", Carri said

"Nope. You guys won't need to ask. We'll let you in. That way you can tell the press you never though we would make it.", Rocky teased

"You guys will make it. You just have to keep the faith.", Kat said

"See, she believes in us.", Adam said

Bulk and Skull came into the Youth Center and they noticed Carri sitting with some of their least favorite people.

"Hey Carri. Why don't you come join us for a soda.", Skull offered

"No thanks guys.", Carri turned them down

"Come on, join us. You're new here, and we'd hate to have you hanging out with the wrong crowd." Bulk leaned in closer to Carri "They're the school losers."

"Ah. Losers you say.", Carri said

"Yup.", said Bulk. Skull just stood there smiling and nodding his head.

Carri turned to Kat. "Kat we're cousins, I thought you told me everything. You never told me you guys were the school losers."

"Cousins?", said Bulk

"Yeah. Did you think the last name thing was just a coincidence?", Carri asked

"Actually, yeah.", Bulk said

Skull tried to defend himself. "Hey, the whole loser thing was Bulk's idea. I had nothing to do with it."

"Whatever.", Carri said

"No seriously...", Skull started at it again but Rocky cut him off

"Guys, just give it a rest, ok.", Rocky said

The two boys put there heads down as they turned around and walked away. Carri's table burst out laughing.

Rocky looked at the clock on the wall. "Oh gosh, look what time it is. I've gotta go or I'll be late for work!", Rocky exclaimed

"You know what, I think I'll head on out of here too. I've got a lot of stuff I need to do.", Carri said

"Hey, we're going in the same direction. Let me walk you halfway there.", Rocky asked

"Ok." Carri said as she put her history book in her backpack and threw it on her shoulder.

Carri and Rocky went out the door together and in the direction of Carri's house. There was a brief silence before either one of them could think of anything to say.

"Well, that really is cool that you got that from Dan. I bet your boyfriend was happy.", Rocky said

"More like surprised. He didn't think I was going to get anywhere but to the police station.", Carri told him

"I guess he was upset when you left."

"Yeah. But I broke it off, so hopefully he's ready to move on now."

"You guys broke up? That's too bad."

"Not really, I had been meaning to do it for a long time. The problem was, my parents loved him, and I really needed to have the right excuse to break it off."

"So, you're parents liked him. Big deal. I'm sure you'll find another guy that they approve of."

"I hope so. They've gotten picky since my dad started making a lot of money."

"That's understandable."

There was another long silence as they approached the part of Angel Grove Park that's close to her house.

Carri decided she wanted to know about Rocky. "So Rocky, now that you know about me, tell me a little bit about you."

"Well, let's see. I was born and...", he started. Carri shook her head and laughed. "Seriously though, well let's see. Where to start. Ok." Rocky proceeded to tell her about him.

Meanwhile, King Mondo was starting to get some pretty good ideas.

"Klank, I want to know who that girl is standing with the blue ranger.", Mondo ordered

"Your highness, that is the pink rangers cousin.", Klank told him

"I have an idea.", King Mondo said

"Nothing self-destructive I hope.", said Mondo's wife, Queen Machina

"Of corse not. We're going to kidnap the rangers new friend. Then those pesky little brats will give us anything we want.", Mondo let them in on the plan

"Yeah. We can demand all sorts of things once we have her.", said the couples son, Prince Sprocket

"Klank, send in the Cogs!", King Mondo ordered

"Yes your highness.", Klank said as he rushed to carry out Mondo's order

"So where do you work Rocky?", Carri asked

"I'm a lifeguard at the beach.", Rocky said

"That must be fun.", Carri said

"Yeah, it is.", he replied

The two new friends were taking a short cut through the park to get to Carri's house when out of nowhere at least a dozen Cogs appeared.

"Oh no. Quick, get out of here!", Rocky yelled

Carri turned around and got ready to run when she saw a lot more Cogs on the other side. "Easier said than done. Looks like we're surrounded."

Rocky was worried. He needed to morph, but he knew he couldn't do it in front of Carri. Hopefully, the others would find out what's going on and get there soon.

Surprisingly, Carri wasn't to worried. She thought, Kat warned me about this. Oh well. Then she turned to the Cogs. Very bravely she said, "Ok, we can do this the hard way or the easy way. Personally, I prefer the easy way, you know you leave and we forget this ever happened."

The Cogs didn't move.

"Right. Hard way it is." Carri threw down her backpack and was prepared to fight.

Rocky stood there in amazement, but not for too long. Before he had a chance to react to what he saw, Cogs came flying at him.

Carri and Rocky both fought the Cogs. Carri was amazed at how stupid these cogs were. I mean, every idiot knows that you're not going to just stand there and let two Cogs come at you from both sides. It's only natural to move out of the way.

The Cogs kept trying to come up and grab Carri from behind while she was fighting one of them. It never seemed to work. Between her fighting skills and Rocky watching her back, the Cogs never had a chance.

The Cogs, seeing that their mission was failing, departed.

"Where did you learn to fight like that?", Rocky said, stunned by the skills she showed

"Remember, I lived in New York. Can't go anywhere and feel safe without some skills.", she told him

"Oh.", was all Rocky could manage to say

"I can't believe this. She defeated the Cogs like she was one of the rangers!", Mondo roared

"But, sire, she's not one of them. You should send in a monster after her. She'd never be able to defeat one of your monsters.", Klank suggested

"Silence! I need time to think!", Mondo yelled "I've got it. Next chance I have, I'll send in a monster. She won't stand a chance."

"Great idea dad.", said Sprocket

"Yes your highness. You come up with some of the best ideas.", Klank said, angry that he didn't listen to him

Rocky and Carri approached the corner where they were going to have to go their separate ways.

"Look, about what happened back there...", Rocky started before Carri cut him off

"Hey, don't worry about it. I'm ok, you're ok, there's nothing more to it.", Carri said

"I guess you're right. I'll see you in the morning then."

"Alright, see ya." Carri said as she headed to her house and Rocky headed for work

It was about 10:00 PM when Carri was sitting downstairs watching TV. Tanya came in after being at the movies with Adam.

"Hey.",said Carri

"Hey." Tanya said as she walked over to the couch

"Did you have fun?", Carri asked

"Yeah.", Tanya said. She came up behind Carri and put her hands on the back of the couch. Then she leaned in toward Carri. "What I want to know is, did you?"

"What?"

"You know, walking home with Rocky. I mean, you do know he has a huge crush on you."

"It's obvious. I noticed he was staring at me every time I looked up during class."

"Well, what did you guys talk about?"

"It was a friendly chat about different things. Can you guess what the first thing he brought up was?"

"David?"

"Yup."

"I knew it." Tanya laughed as she turned around and walked upstairs. "I'm turning in. We'll chat more tomorrow."

"'Night"

As Tanya was walking upstairs, Kat came downstairs, fresh from having to take a shower.

"Hey Kat.", Carri greeted her

"Hey.", Kat said as she walked over and sat beside Carri

"I have got to tell you what happened to me."

"I'm all ears."

Carri filled her cousin in on everything that happened in the park.

"Wow. I hate to say I told you so, but...", Kat started

"I know, I know. At least you did warn me about what being here was like. I would've been freaked out if you hadn't.", Carri said

"You know I wouldn't have told you if I didn't spill everything when I was under Rita's spell.", Kat said

"I know, and I'm thankful for Rita. If it weren't for her, you might not be a ranger, and I wouldn't know the biggest secret of my best friends life.", Carri said

"True. It's getting late. Maybe we should go to bed now."

"You're right."

Both girls walked upstairs and into their rooms, each in their own little worlds.

Kat, Carri, and Tanya arrived at school just as the minute bell rang. The three hurried to class, not really wanting to spend the period in lockout. Not too fun.

First period was a breeze. Carri stayed alert and awake and actually enjoyed class. When the bell rang, Carri hurried to get to class, not really wanting to be by Bulk and Skull again. Of corse, being on the other side of the building doesn't help. When she walked into the room, she noticed that it was already pretty full.

Rocky noticed Carri come in. He lifted up his hand and motioned for her to come over to the seat he had saved for her. Of course, Carri went. Rocky & Tommy or Bulk & Skull? Hmm. Tough one.

Carri slipped into the seat beside Rocky. "Thanks guys.", she said

"Hey no problem. Anything for a friend.", Rocky said

"I think she would have rather sat with her fan club.", Tommy teased, pointing to Bulk and Skull

Carri playfully hit Tommy on the shoulder just as the bell rang.

"Alright class, I want you to pay a lot of attention today. We're going over very important stuff.", their teacher said

Carri leaned back in her chair. Was this going to be a long period.

Bring!

End of fourth period. At last. As if the morning wasn't going slow enough. Carri and Kat met up again to walk to their English class.

"So, how's your day been?", Kat asked

"Not counting the boring factor, great. Your friends are pretty terrific. I sat with a few of them in second period.", Carri answered

"That's great!", she exclaimed, "I'm glad you guys are getting along."

Carri and Kat walked into class and grabbed the seats beside Rocky, Adam and Tommy.

"Hey guys!", Carri greeted them

"Hi.", said the boys at the same time

"Are you ready for the wonderful world of English?", Kat teased

"Oh yes, I've been waiting for this moment all day.", Carri said sarcastically and caused the boys to laugh

Bring!

"Shhh!", Carri joked putting her finger on her mouth, trying to get the boys, who were still chuckling, to shut up.

"Our first and main unit of this year will be one on William Shakespear. We will go over his Hamlet, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Caesar, and then go in depth with Macbeth. We will proceed this by preforming Macbeth in class, and quite possibly we will preform everyone's favorite, Romeo & Juliet.", said their english teacher, Mrs. Fleet

"Romeo, Romeo, where for art tho Romeo?", Rocky joked

The class cracked up. Not really at what Rocky said, but at how he said it. Even Mrs. Fleet had to smile.

"Ok guys, let's start out with a little bit of history about Shakespear himself.", Mrs. Fleet said

Mrs. Fleet went on about Shakespear and his life. Not like they hadn't all heard it since 8th grade. Of course, it never hurts to hear something again. Finally, the bell rang.

Bring!

Everyone jumped up.

"Hey guys, what are your plans for lunch?", Rocky asked

"Me and Kat have got to work on something for math class tomorrow.", Adam informed his friend

"Tommy?", Rocky questioned

"Busy.", he replied

"Well in that case, Carri, would you like to join me for lunch?", Rocky asked

"It would be my honor.", Carri said

Rocky held out his arm. Carri linked her arm in his and out the door they went.

"We could've done this at the library later today.", Kat said

"I know. I was just trying to get Carri and Rocky a little alone time. You have no idea what kind of a crush he has on that girl. Just don't tell him I told you that. Come on guys, Tanya is going to meet us in the library.", explained Adam

After lunch, Carri and Rocky walked to their next classes together.

"So Rocky, where exactly is your next class?", Carri wondered, "I mean, I don't want you walking out of your way to take me to class."

Rocky pointed to the class diagonally away from her math room. "Right there.", he said "Hey, after class me and Adam will meet you in front of this room. Then we can walk to chem class together."

"Ok.", Carri agreed as she waved good-bye and walked into math.

"See ya.", Rocky said as he waved back

Carri went into her math class. She sat down and only a few seconds later, her "fan club" had managed to find the empty seats next to her. Thankfully, math class went by pretty quickly.

When the bell rang, Carri got out as quickly as she could. Skull watched her go the whole way. Carri stood outside the door and Bulk & Skull were quick to stand beside her. Rocky and Adam took to long to get there.

"Hey guys!", she yelled noticing them and walking in there direction

"Hey!", Rocky yelled and Adam waved

Carri got there and she noticed that Bulk and Skull seemed to stay 2 feet away from her at all times. They were to obvious. In a real low voice she said to Rocky and Adam, "My quote fan club has resorted to stalking."

Rocky laughed and Adam just stood there with a blank look on his face. "See what happened is this morning both me and Tommy and Bulk & Skull saved her a seat. When she came to sit with us Tommy said something referring to them as her fan club.", Rocky whispered into Adam's ear

"Oh, gotcha.", said Adam

Carri and Rocky walked into class and went over and sat with Tommy and Kat while Adam went on to history. Bulk and Skull came in and sat behind them.

"Surprise surprise.", Carri muttered

"What?", Rocky asked as he turned around a saw what she had already seen. "Oh"

The bell rang and Mrs. Applebee's class got under way. Mrs. Applebee seemed like a good teacher. Her class was the fastest one of the day. Before anyone knew it, the bell had rung.

"Who's off to the Youth Center?", Tommy asked

"I'm there.", said Carri

"Me too.", said Rocky

"I guess Adam and I can show up for a minute before we have to go back to work.", Kat said

"Oh, Tanya wanted me to tell you she was heading over later too.", Carri let them know

"Ok then, let's go.", Tommy said, walking out the door

They arrived at the Youth Center shortly after Tanya.

"Hey guys, what took you so long?", Tanya teased

"Well, the thought of seeing you when we got here slowed us down.", Adam teased his girlfriend before he sat down beside her and kissed her

The others sat down around the table and started up a conversation. They talked for a half hour before someone Carri hadn't seen before came in and started talking to Tommy.

"Hey Tommy, you ready to do some sparring?", asked a long time friend of the group, Billy Cranston. "Remember, you've got to teach me that new move."

"Yeah, Billy.", Tommy said as he noticed that Carri had a blank look on her face. "Oh Billy, this is Kat's cousin, Carri. Carri, this is a good friend of ours, Billy Cranston."

"Pleasure to meet you.", Billy said extending his hand

Carri shook his hand. "Nice to meet you too."

Kat looked up at the clock. "Oh my gosh, look what time it is. Come on Adam, we were only going to stay for ten minutes."

Kat dragged Adam up and out the door. "Bye!", he yelled

Tommy and Billy went over to the mats to spar a little and work on a new move.

"Well, I have to go talk with Ernie, I'll see you guys later.", Tanya said

"Well, it looks like there's nothing more to do around here.", Carri said "I suppose I'll just go home and check out the afternoon games."

"Games? As in baseball games?", Rocky asked

"Yeah."

"Mind if I join you? I'm a big baseball fan."

"No, not at all.", Carri said as she and Rocky stood up. "Let's go."

The two walked out the door and headed down toward Carri's house.

"So, who's your favorite?", Rocky asked

"Favorite...", Carri prompted him

"Team."

"Houston Astros rock and Atlanta is pretty cool. However, they can't hold a candle to my 'Stros. Yours?"

"Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Mets are my two favorite, but I like the Dodgers more. Ok, favorite player?"

"The Killer B's. Biggio and Bagwell. They count as one."

Rocky laughed. "Mine's Mike Piazza. No contest."

"He's ok.", Carri kidded

"Carri, I've been wondering, would you like to go to a movie with me tonight?", Rocky asked

"Are you asking me out on a date?", she wondered

"Well, yes."

"I'd love to go."

"Does 7:00 sound ok?"

"That's fine."

"Alright then, it's set.", Rocky said as he put his arm around her shoulder.

The two started walking through Angel Grove park when the Cogs showed up.

"Looks like the welcome wagon's back.", Carri muttered

The newest couple in Angel Grove started to fight the bad guys. They were winning when all of the sudden the most ugly thing Carri had ever seen came out of the sky.

"I am Terminator, and I am here to put and end to this.", he introduced himself

"You aren't putting an end to anything.", Rocky said, not so sure if that was true or not since he didn't know how long he could hold out without morphing.

Carri sensed the doubt in his voice. "Go ahead and morph.", she told him

"But how...", Rocky started but was cut off

"I'll tell you later.", Carri said, "Just do it."

Carri went up to try to fight this thing by herself to give Rocky time to morph. He was a lot stronger that the Cogs.

"It's morphin time!", Rocky yelled, "ZEO RANGER III, BLUE!"

The Terminator had grabbed Carri. "Let her go!", Rocky yelled

"Highly unlikely.", he said

Beep beep beepbeep beep beep.

Tommy, Billy and Tanya went to a little corner of the Youth Center.

"What is it Alpha?", Tommy asked

"Rocky is under attack in the park. You must join him immediately.", Alpha ordered

"We're on it Alpha.", Tommy said as Billy teleported back to the Power Chamber. Tommy and Tanya backed up more to make sure no one could see them.

"It's morphin time!", Tommy yelled

"ZEO RANGER II, YELLOW!"

"ZEO RANGER V, RED!"

"Ok, so are we sure this is how we want it?", Kat asked Adam. They were in the Angel Grove library doing their math.

Adam nodded his head yes.

Beep beep beepbeep beep beep .

Adam and Kat walked over to a never used part of the library.

"We're here Alpha."

Alpha explained the situation.

"You got it. It's morphin time!", yelled Adam

"ZEO RANGER I, PINK!"

"ZEO RANGER IV, GREEN!"

The others quickly joined Carri and Rocky in the park.

"We're here for you man.", Tommy said

"Yeah!", agreed Tanya

"Oh how sweet. Let me introduce myself. I am the Terminator, and I am here to take your friend away.", the big monster said

"Oh no you don't!", yelled Kat, "ZEO I, POWER KICK!"

Kat spun around and kicked the Terminator so hard that he flung Carri out of his arms and toward Rocky.

Rocky ran over to help her up. "Are you ok?" he asked

Carri nodded her head yes. Rocky, who had been holding on to her arm, let go. Carri ran and ducked behind a tree.

"You haven't won yet!", Terminator roared

All of the rangers had gathered together in front of the monster.

"Well, we're a lot closer than you are.", Tommy threatened him

The rangers got into an awful fight with Terminator. End the end they all pulled out their pistols and got him down.

Carri thought the fight was over until she looked up and saw something on the hill.

"Looks like Terminator could use our help.", Klank said

"Alrighty then.", said his little buddy Orbus.

Orbus then put his head, arms, and legs inside him. Klank pulled out some sort of cord from him and threw him in circles over his head.

"Around and around and away we go.", Klank said, throwing Orbus at Terminator "Here you go.", said Orbus, filling Terminator with something

Suddenly, Terminator grew to an enormous height.

"Ha. You tiny rangers can't stop me now!", He yelled

"We'll see about that.", said Rocky

"We need Zeo Zord power now!", yelled Tommy

All of the rangers jumped into their respective zords and Tommy brought them all together. Terminator wasn't good enough to compete with the Mega Zeo Zord. He went down in a matter of seconds

"Won't we ever be able to defeat those rangers!", roared King Mondo

"In time dear.", Queen Machina said

"Klank!", yelled Mondo

"Yes your highness?", Klank arrived

"This is all your fault. It was your idea to bring in a monster."

"I am so sorry sire.", Klank apologized

Four out of the five rangers were getting ready to leave.

"Wait, before you go, I think we need to talk. Go ahead and de-morph, or whatever you do.", Carri said

Only Rocky and Kat powered down.

"It's ok guys, she knows.", Kat said

The others reluctantly powered down.

"How...", Tommy started but was cut off by Kat

"I told her."

"Katherine, you do know that what you did is in direct violation of Zordon's orders.", Tommy said

"Wait, don't get mad at her.", Carri started, "It wasn't her fault. She told me everything before she became a power ranger, when she was under Rita's spell. Then she really had no choice but to keep me up to date."

"I never would've told her if it weren't for the spell I was under.", Kat said defending herself

"Well, I suppose it's acceptable. I mean, after all, Rita was a pretty powerful woman.", Adam said, thinking out loud for the most part

"Adam's right, as long as...", Tommy started

"I didn't tell anyone?", Carri finished as Tommy shook his head yes. "Don't worry. I would never do that. Your secret's safe with me."

"Well, now that's over with, we've got some things we must attend to.", Kat said looking around at everyone. They all seemed to have a look of trust in their eyes, trust for Carri and trust for Kat.

"You're right.", Adam said as he and Kat teleported out of there

Tommy and Tanya waved bye and left.

"Well, since that's over with, I think we have a Dodgers-Astros game starting in a few minutes.", Rocky said

"What are you waiting for, come on.", Carri said walking away

Rocky caught up with her and re-put his arm around her. The both enjoyed a peaceful rest of their walk to Carri⦣128;™s house.

"Five bucks says the Dodgers win.", Rocky said as Carri turned on the TV

"You're on.", she agreed, looking to win a little money

Carri put the TV on ESPN, they were being nice enough to show the game that afternoon.

"Darryl blanked LA in the first. Way to go.", Carri said noticing the score

"Big deal. The game just started.", Rocky said in the Dodgers defense

They started listening to the TV. Rocky slid his arm up and put it around Carri's shoulder.

"0-2 pitch to Bagwell. Bases loaded, no out. Nomo in a lot of trouble.", said Harold Reynolds, the ESPN announcer, "Let's see if he has the green light. He does and he swings, line drive center field. Back goes DeShelids, back to the wall, and it's gone. Grand slam Jeff Bagwell."

"Guys, how could you do this to me?", Rocky whined

"Yes! Go Jeff, go Jeff.", chanted Carri

"Top of the ninth, two outs. Billy Wagner is one strike away from striking out the side and winning the game. The pitch. Fouled away.", Harold said

"Come on Billy, you can do it.", Carri said, sitting on the edge of the couch.

At that moment Adam and Tanya came in. Tanya noticed how close Rocky and Carri were.

"Don't they look happy?", Tanya whispered to Adam

"Eric, all you have to do is get on and then let Mike hit you home.", Rocky pleaded joining Carri on the edge of the couch.

"The pitch. Fastball, blew it right by Karros. He had no chance. That will do it from the Astrodome. Astros win it, 8-7", announced Harold

"Man. That was a close one.", Rocky said

"Whatever.", Carri said holding out her hand for the money.

Reluctantly, Rocky paid her. Rocky looked up at the clock.

"It's seven o'clock already? Come on Carri, we'd better get going.", Rocky said pulling Carri up and toward the door.

"So, where you guys headed?", Tanya asked

"To the movies.", Carri told her, "So, you guys have been a lot, what do you recommend?"

"We went and saw Romeo & Juliet yesterday. That was the best.", Adam told them

"Yeah and Leonardo DiCaprio looked good too.", Tanya whispered in Carri's ear and they both laughed

"Well?", Rocky said looking at Carri

"I'm convinced.", Carri said

Tanya laughed.

"Fine then. Romeo & Juliet it is.", Rocky decided, heading toward the door. They got almost out the door when Rocky stopped and realized they didn't have a way to the movies. Rocky turned around to face Carri.

"Oh man, I never went home to get the car. Now what are we going to do?", Rocky wondered

Adam tossed Rocky his car keys. "Here man, use my car. I'll be here when you get back."

"Thanks, I owe you one.", Rocky told him

"No problem.", Adam said

Carri and Rocky left for the movies.

"They make such a cute couple.", Tanya commented

"They do, don't they." Adam agreed

Adam and Tanya sat down to watch TV.

Tanya, Adam, Kat, and Tommy were all sitting on the couch watching TV when they heard Carri and Rocky approach the door.

Carri opened the door. "I really had fun tonight. We'll have to do it again sometime."

Rocky came in behind her. "Yes, soon.", he agreed

Carri shut the door as she looked over and saw everyone watching TV. "Hey guys.", she greeted them

"Hey.", they all said

Rocky tossed Adam his keys as he put his arm around Carri. "Thanks again Adam. I don't know what we would've done if you hadn't lent me your keys."

"Like I said before, no problem.", Adam said

"To be continued!?!? Come on, I can't wait until next week to see the end!", Tommy yelled

"I guess that's all of you guys cue to leave.", Kat said

"Aw man, do we have to?", Adam said cuddling up to Tanya

Tanya kissed Adam. "Yes."

Adam pouted but got up. "Either of you guys want a ride home?", he asked

"Yeah, sure.", Rocky said

"That would be great.", Tommy told him

"Ok then, let's go.", Adam said sneaking one more kiss with Tanya

Adam and Tommy walked out the door. Rocky kissed Carri before he left. "See ya tomorrow."

"Definitely.", Carri said

The boys left and Carri closed the door behind them. Kat turned off the TV.

"Ok Carri, sit." Carri came over and sat between Kat and Tanya. "Now, tell us everything.", Kat demanded

"Like?", Carri said

"Don't think we didn't see him kiss you a minute ago.", Tanya said

"Ok. We went to the movies together.", Carri told them

"Well, we know that. What do you think of Rocky?", Kat wanted to know

"Rocky? He's great. I really like him.", Carri said getting all dreamy

Tanya and Kat raised their eyebrows then congratulated Carri.

"I knew you and Rocky would end up together. You guys look so cute together.", Tanya told her

"Yeah. I'm happy for you. I just wish Tommy would ask me out.", Kat said doing some wishful thinking

"Why don't you ask him out?", Carri asked

Kat's face turned red. "No, I can't do that."

Carri and Tanya exchanged looks.

"I'm sure he'll eventually ask you out.", Carri told her

"Yeah, he's just got to work up the courage. Work on the friendship for now.", Tanya agreed

"You're right. Thanks for the advice.", Kat said

"No problem.", Tanya said

"Come on, let's turn in.", Carri said walking up the stairs

Tanya followed her. "Yeah, the faster you go to sleep, the faster you get to see Rocky.", she joked

Carri playfully hit her on the shoulder when she got upstairs.

"Well you know it's true.", Tanya said

Kat was the last one to go to bed. She was sitting downstairs thinking about Tommy. Maybe, hopefully, her two friends were right.

Blah. School. At least I know people there. I am happy. Really. Well, now that the excitement is over school is going back to it's boring old self. Carri was absorbed in her thoughts.

BRING!!!

That last bell came in loud and clear. Carri jumped up.

"So, where you guys going?", Tommy asked

They all looked at him funny.

"Yeah, I know. Stupid question."

Carri bowed her head and laughed. Kat saw her and couldn't help but laugh. More at the way Carri looked then at Tommy. That created the domino effect. Before they knew it, they were all laughing. When they stopped, Carri kept her head down and walked out the door laughing. Rocky made the crazy sign and Carri elbowed him in the stomach.

"I deserved that didn't I?", Rocky asked

Carri, still laughing, looked up and shook her head yes as she said, "Uh-huh."

They all walked out and to the Youth Center.

"Hey Tanya!", Carri yelled and waved as she walked to her table and sat down. The others quickly followed.

Adam sat down beside Tanya and they kissed.

Rocky put his arm around Carri and leaned in and kissed her. They stayed cuddled until Carri decided to get up and order herself some fries.

"Anybody want anything?", she asked before she left

"Soda.", Rocky said

"Make that one more.", said Kat

"Same here.", agreed Tommy

"Tanya, Adam, you guys want anything?", Carri asked

"Nope, we're fine.", Adam said, answering for the both of them

"Ok. Be right back.", Carri said

"Hey Rocky, are we going to do that little kids karate class next Sunday morning?", Tommy asked

"Yeah. I don't see why not.", Rocky answered

"Do you guys enjoy working with the little kids?", Kat wanted to know

"Yeah. They're great, and eager and willing to learn. Why?", Tommy told her

"Well, I was considering teaching little kids dance. What do you think?", Kat proposed her idea

"Kat, that would be great. I'm sure the little kid's would really enjoy it.", Tanya supported her

"I suppose you're right. Now, are there any volunteers to help me with flyers and things?", Kat asked

"I'd love to help you.", Tommy said

"Is Saturday night ok?", Kat asked

"Perfect.", Tommy said

Carri came back with a tray that had 4 sodas and one basket of chilly cheese fries.

"Oooh, chilly cheese fries. I know you want to share.", Rocky said

"Go ahead, have some. All of you. I doubt I can eat them all anyway.", Carri said Adam and Rocky took that for dig in, so they did.

"Hey, I didn't say eat them all. Ok, so did I miss anything while I was gone?", Carri wondered

"I'm going to start teaching little kids dance.", Kat told her

"Oh, that's great. I'm sure there's a lot they can learn from you.", Carri encouraged her new activity

"Hey guys, I've got some great news and I wanted you all to be here when I told it.", Tanya announced

"Ok, shoot.", Adam said

"Ok. Tonight, Ernie is going to run his after hours club. He wants me to sing. He said he's expecting a good crowd tonight and he thinks that they'd like to hear me sing.", Tanya told them of her good fortune

"Tanya, I'm so happy for you. I can't think of anyone in the city of Angel Grove who can sing better than you.", Kat congratulated her

"I don't know your singing, but Kat has and ear for talent and if she gives you her praises, that must make you pretty good.", Carri said

"I know everyone in town will be here once they hear Tanya Sloan is singing tonight.", Rocky said

Tommy smiled. "One day I'll be able to say I knew you when."

"Don't you ever think that if I ever make it to the bigs I will forget you.", Tanya promised

"We'll all be here to support you.", Adam said

"I really enjoy all of you guys support.", Tanya said

"Hey, we believe in you.", Rocky sincerely told her

There was a short silence. Then Adam had an idea. "Hey Rocky, wanna spar?"

"Why not.", Rocky said

Rocky and Adam walked off to go get changed.

Carri finished off her fries as they left. "Next time I say help start to say help yourself, stop me.", Carri pleaded, teasing the boys

"Carri, you wanna go watch them spar?", Tanya asked

"Sure. I'd like to see Rocky kick Adam's butt.", Carri said as she got up

"In his dreams. Adam could beat Rocky with one hand tied behind his back.", Tanya said as she got up and walked over to the mats with Carri

"We shall see.", Carri said

The six teenagers arrived back at the Youth Center soon before Tanya was to sing.

Carri leaned over and whispered in Tanya's ear. "Let's see, the last time we were here, Rocky was busy kicking Adam's butt."

"Lucky shot.", Tanya whispered back before climbing up on stage

The five people remaining went and found a table near the stage.

"This is going to be good.", Adam promised

Tanya's concert lasted an hour. She sang beautifully. She got a standing ovation from everyone in there. Tanya climbed down from the stage and walked over to her friends, who were still standing.

Adam hugged her. "That was great!"

"Thanks."

They all sat down. Tanya got busy signing autographs for some of the kids and even some of the teenagers. Two men in black suits came over to her.

"Hello.", one of them said

"Hi.", Tanya greeted them

"My name is Shawn Davis and I represent MCA records." Shawn pulled out a card and handed it to her. "We are prepared to make you an offer that will make that other sorry little record company look bad."

"Well, I don't know.", Tanya said

"Step into my office and we can discuss the fine details.", Shawn said

"I guess it won't hurt.", Tanya said

Tanya got up and went off with the two men. Ernie came over to their table.

"I see Tanya met my friends.", he said

"You set her up?", Adam asked

"Yeah, well...", Ernie said

"Good job.", Adam praised him

Tanya came back to the table a few minutes later. "You guys go on home. This may be awhile."

Everyone agreed and slowly made their way back home. Kat and Carri were sound asleep when Tanya finally came in. They'd just have to wait until morning to find out how it went.

The gang of teenagers had no time during their busy class schedule to talk to Tanya. In fact, Carri was the only one who even saw her before they met at the Youth Center.

Rocky, Carri, Tommy, Kat and Adam all wondered at the Youth Center and sat at the round table with Tanya.

"So, did you sign?", a curious Carri asked

"Nope.", Tanya said

"Did you get a contract?", Adam wanted to know

"Yup.", Tanya answered, "I didn't sign it because I'm not sure if I want to do it. I have the contract right here."

"Well, let us see it.", Kat demanded

Tanya pulled out the contract. "Here you go.", said Tanya as she sat it on the table.

Carri picked it up and started reading it. "Woah. Check this out, and I'm just covering the fine points."

That got everyone's attention. They all listened to her as she spoke.

"One million dollars for a successful record. Up to five million extra if she's really good. If this first record is a success, she gets a 5 record, at least 6.5 million dollar deal. She has to move to New York, but they will pay for the move and a house or apartment of her choice. They will also give her money for food and rent until the CD comes out. Plus, she gets a private tutor to teach her the 12th grade." Carri skimmed on down the page. "This is a no strings attached deal. If something doesn't work out, they will pay for her move back here, or to whatever part of the country she wishes to live in. There's a lot of little stuff, and I do mean a lot, but that's the big stuff."

Everyone's jaw dropped. It was amazing what MCA was willing to pay for a good singer.

"You're going to sign that, right?", Adam said

"I don't know.", Tanya told them

"I always knew you were talented but this... wow.", was all Rocky had to say

"Tanya, this is great. This is the break that everyone looks for.", Kat said

"I say you go for it.", Tommy told her

"I don't know guys. This is great and all, but I have a lot of obligations in Angel Grove that I don't think I could leave.", Tanya said

"Can you seriously say you have something here bigger that this?", Carri asked her friend

Tanya shook her head yes.

"If you mean", Adam started but lowered his voice, "the Rangers, I think you should talk to Zordon before you blow all of this."

"Yeah Tanya, you can't give up your dream for us.", Tommy said

"I don't know. You guys are like family to me.", Tanya softly said

"Just talk to Zordon before you make up your mind.", Kat suggested

"I guess talking won't hurt.", Tanya said

Tanya got up from the table and walked over to a corner, out of sight of everyone but her friends. She reached up and touched a button on her communicator and in a flash she was gone.

"Hey Zordon, Alpha. There's something I need to talk to you about.", Tanya greeted them

"TANYA, YOU KNOW I AM HERE TO LISTEN TO ALL OF YOUR PROBLEMS.", Zordon told her

"Ok, here it goes." Tanya proceeded to tell him about her record deal and why she really doesn't want to sign it.

"TANYA, YOU ARE A VALUABLE MEMBER OF THE POWER RANGERS TEAM. I KNOW THAT WE'D HAVE THE PROBLEM OF FINDING A REPLACEMENT FOR YOU, AND THAT WOULD BE HARD SINCE YOU'VE BROUGHT US SO MUCH.", Zordon paused before continuing. "I DON'T WANT THE POWER RANGERS TO STOP YOU FROM REACHING YOUR DREAMS. HOWEVER, I WILL RESPECT YOUR DECISION NO MATTER WHAT IT IS."

Tanya stood there and thought for a minute. A very long minute. After all the weighing of the pros and cons, Tanya had finally come to a decision. "Alpha, call the other Rangers. I have something that I need to tell them.

Beep beep beepbeep beep beep.

The teenagers were still in the Youth Center when Alpha called. Tommy and the Rangers walked over to the side. Tommy answered his communicator.

"What is it Alpha?", Tommy asked

"There is something important that you Rangers should know. Teleport to the Power Chamber immediately.", Alpha ordered

As Rocky headed for the hall with the other rangers he called out to Carri. "We'll be right back."

Carri nodded her head, understanding what was going on. Rocky and the others teleported out.

Tommy was the first to approach Alpha.

"Is it Mondo?", he asked

"No Tommy, Tanya has come to a decision.", Alpha told him

"Whatever you decided, we want you to know we support you.", Adam said holding Tanya's hand

Tanya took a deep breath as she told them. "I have decided," she started before pausing, "to accept the deal. This is to big of an offer to pass up."

"Tanya, that's great!", Adam exclaimed as he gave her a kiss

"Yeah Tanya. Congratulations!" Kat told her friend

"Tanya, this is the best thing that could ever happen to you.", Tommy said

"Affirmative. There is not one person in Angel Grove with a better voice than you.", Billy told her

"Hey, I have to get your autograph so I can say I knew you when.", Rocky said

"Remember, I told you if I make it I'll never forget any of you. Especially you.", she said as she turned toward Adam

One by one all of the Rangers came up to give her a hug of congratulations.

"So, when are you leaving?", Adam asked

"Tomorrow. That means we have one day to find my replacement.", Tanya informed all of them

"I don't think it will take that long.", Kat said

Everyone made eye contact as they shook their head yes.

"Hey Rocky. That was quick.", Carri greeted the returning Rocky. "Where's everyone else?"

"They had something that they had to do with Billy.", Rocky said very quickly. "Carri, do you trust me?", Rocky asked

"Yes.", she answered

"Enough to let me blindfold you and take you somewhere?"

"I suppose."

"Great.", Rocky said as he took out a blindfold.

Rocky tied the blindfold around Carri's eyes and led her out the door. They walked for a while and went to the back of a nearby building. As they were walking, Billy transported them to the Power Chamber.

"Here we are.", Rocky said as he took off the blindfold

Carri realized she had no idea where she was. She looked around and saw a little robot and a head in some sort of glass container. She figured that it was Power Ranger related.

"So, where is here?", Carri asked

"Here is the Power Chamber.", Rocky told her

"Carri, this is Alpha.", Kat said pointing to the robot

"Hi.", Carri said

"Nice to meet you.", Alpha said shyly

"And this, is Zordon. He's our mentor.", Kat said pointing at Zordon

"Hello.", Carri greeted him

"HELLO CARRI. YOU HAVE BEEN BROUGHT HERE BECAUSE TANYA HAS SOMETHING TO TELL YOU.", Zordon told her

Carri turned to face Tanya.

"Carri, I've decided to accept the record deal.", Tanya told her

"That's great!", she exclaimed running up to give Tanya a hug

"This means, that I can't be a Power Ranger any more.", Tanya started, "And I want you to take my place on the team."

"Me?", Carri said, not quite so sure she understood what she heard

"You are going to be the next yellow ranger.", Tanya told her

"Why me?" Carri wanted to know

"Because you are skilled enough to be able to preform the duties of a Power Ranger. You also have the heart of one.", Tanya seriously told her new friend

"Wow, I don't know what to say.", Carri said, still trying to take it all in

"Say you'll do it.", Tanya said

"Yes, of course.", Carri said after sorting out the situation

"SINCE TANYA IS LEAVING TOMORROW, IT WOULD BE BEST IF THE TRANSFERRING OF POWERS TOOK PLACE NOW.", Zordon informed them

Tanya shook her head in agreement.

"FIRST OFF, CARRI, YOU MUST PROMISE THAT AS A POWER RANGER YOU WILL NEVER USE YOUR POWERS FOR EVIL OR FOR YOUR OWN PURPOSES. YOU ALSO MAY NOT TELL ANYONE ABOUT US.", Zordon said

"I promise.", Carri agreed to his terms

Billy walked over to the spot that held all five power crystals. He grabbed the one that had belonged to Tanya for so long and he handed it to her. Tanya held up the power crystal in one hand. Carri reached up with one hand and grabbed the power crystal. Suddenly, the room was engulfed in a bright yellow light. When the light died down, the others saw Carri dressed in her Ranger suit. Carri then powered down and gave Billy back the crystal.

"Here.", Tanya said handing her the communicator she had used for so long. "I hope this comes in handy for you just as it did for me."

Carri took off the communicator and placed it on her wrist. "Thank you.", was all she could manage to say

The festivities were interrupted by a loud siren.

"Ay yi yi!", said Alpha

Billy rushed over to see what was the matter.

"Looks like Cogs and one big ugly monster.", Billy said

"We're on it.", Tommy said

For the first time in ages Tanya stood there and watched the show instead of be a part of it.

"It's morphin time!", Tommy yelled

ZEO RANGER I, PINK!

ZEO RANGER II, YELLOW!

ZEO RANGER III, BLUE!

ZEO RANGER IV, GREEN!

ZEO RANGER V, RED!

And just like that, the Power Rangers were gone and off to their first mission with a new friend.

"That was great. I think a gal could get used to this gig.", Carri said after returning from their conquest

The rest of them laughed.

"Well, we hope you will be a part of this gig for a while.", Rocky told her

"I intend on being", Carri said

"Hey, where did Tanya go?", Adam asked

"She returned to her house to put her things together.", Billy said

"I think I should go talk to her.", Adam said as he teleported out

"Talk. I'm sure that's all he has on his mind.", Carri muttered

Rocky snickered, the he said, "Come on, let's go to my house. Ten minutes from now the 2nd game in the series starts."

"Ten bucks on the Astros.", Carri said

"Over confidence. That'll kill you.", Rocky said then added, "Ten on L.A."

"I'm with you all the way man. Put my ten on L.A.", Tommy said

"Carri, I hate to tell you, but I don't know to much about Houston, so my 10 is on L.A. too.", Kat put Carri down

"We shall see.", Carri responded to all of the Anti-Astros

"Billy, you coming?", Rocky asked

"Yes. I think that my money will go on the Dodgers too. The statistics have them ending up on top.", Billy said

Carri shrugged her shoulders as they teleported to Rocky's house.

"Forty dollars. Never underestimate the power of the Killer B's.", Carri triumphantly announced

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Biggio and Bagwell got lucky. Back to back of Worell. How many times can you say that.", Rocky complained

"Luck had nothing to do with it.", Carri cheerfully said as she collected her money

"They were only down by one. A comeback was possible.", Kat said

"Kat, that didn't help our side any.", Tommy teased

"Yeah Kat that didn't help your side any. It helped mine. Thank you.", Carri said

"Anytime.", Kat sarcastically said

"Well, I suppose this is the part of the night where we all break up and think twice about betting against the Astros. But of corse, then we realize there's know way on the planet the Astros can sweep the Dodgers.", Rocky said

"Whatever. If you want to give me more money...", Carri started then let her voice trail off

"Oh if that's the way it's going to be. My house, 7 tomorrow night. Anyone else who wants to place their 10 on LA is welcome to come and win their money back.", Rocky challenged Carri

"I'll be there.", Carri said, her competitive spirit showing

"I might make it.", Tommy said and Kat shook her head in agreement

"Well, I have to return to the Power Chamber. I'll talk to you guys tomorrow. Goodnight.", Billy said as he teleported out

" 'Night Billy.", They all said

"Well, I might as well give everyone a ride home.", Rocky said as he went and grabbed his keys

"Ew, what if I don't want to ride with you?", teased Carri

"Well then I guess you have a problem.", responded Rocky as he dragged her out the door

Carri squirmed and tried to get away, but she eventually did the smart thing and let herself get dragged by Rocky. Kat and Tommy followed them out the door. They all got into the car, Carri and Rocky in the front and Kat and Tommy in the back.

Carri put on her seatbelt. "I have to be here with my abusive boyfriend.", she teased as she stuck out her tongue and gagged.

Kat laughed. Tommy playfully rolled his eyes.

"What makes you think I didn't see that Mr. Oliver?", asked Carri

"See what?", Tommy wanted to know although he knew what she was talking about

"Uh-huh. I see.", Carri said

Rocky started the car and went in the direction of Kat & Carri's place.

"You girls are getting dropped off first so I don't have to deal with you anymore.", Rocky joked

Carri snuffled. "You hurt my feelings.", she complained

"Aw, I'm sorry.", Rocky said as he took one arm off the wheel and half hugged her. "Feel better?"

"Much better.", Carri said, "Anyway. So how's life?"

"With King Mondo, it's as exiting as it can be.", Tommy answered her question

"Seriously though.", Kat agreed

Rocky pulled into Kat & Carri's driveway. "This is your stop."

"Thanks for the ride home.", Carri said

"Hey, no problem.", Rocky said as he leaned over and gave Carri a goodnight kiss.

" 'Night Rocky & Tommy.", Carri said

" 'Night Tommy & Rocky.", said Kat

" 'Night girls.", they both said

As Carri got out of the front, Tommy got out of the back and came and sat in the front with Rocky. The boys watched to make sure that the girls got in safely.

As Rocky head toward Tommy's house, Tommy asked him a question.

"You really like Carri, don't you?", Tommy asked

"Yes. I know we've only been going out for a few days, but she's one of those people who, well, you feel like you've known them all your life. You know what I'm saying?", Rocky asked, wondering if his point was getting across

"Yeah. She just says what she's thinking, she doesn't care she doesn't know us that well. Well, she doesn't know me that well.", Tommy said

"Well... she and I have had lot's of chances to talk. She seems so... I don't know... what's the word I'm looking for?", Rocky said, actually being at a loss of words

"Great?", Tommy filled in

"Yeah. You seem to know what I'm talking about.", Rocky told him

"Well, you know, I'm just talented." Tommy joked. The truth is, I felt the same way about Kim, and now about Kat, as Rocky feels about Carri. The only problem is, I'm to nervous to tell her how I feel, or to let anyone else know for that matter

The next day they all went to school as usual. However, today was more boring than the rest of the week had been. The excitement of being back had worn off, and so had the thrill of meeting and being with new people. Well, except for Rocky. Besides him, the only still interesting thing to Carri was being the new Yellow Ranger.

Eventually, the boring day was over. As usual, the gang was going to meet at the Youth Center. Well, except for Tanya. She was still packing for her 5 p.m. flight. But that was ok, the gang had to quickly set up the Youth Center for a surprise party to be held at right after school at three.

"Ok guys, this has to be very special.", Adam ordered

Rocky looked down at him from the ladder he was standing on to do the decorations. "We know how important Tanya is to you. She's a good friend to all of us. Her going away party will be awesome."

Carri and Kat wondered in. Carri had a cake in her hand. "Check this out." Carri presented the boys with the cake.

"You got the good-bye cake?", Adam asked

"No, it's a cake I'm going to take the Astrodome tonight after the sweep.", Carri said sarcastically. "Of corse it's for Tanya."

Rocky snickered as he climbed down from his ladder. "Let me see."

Tommy came from decorating the other side of the room to get a look at this cake.

"Oooh, that's nice.", Adam said

"Kat figured out what to say and me myself and I designed it. However, I did not decorate or bake it. Trust me, I am not nearly that skilled.", Carri told them

"Good job. And I'm glad you didn't bake it. We just wanted to say good-by for now, not for ever.", Rocky joked

"That looks really nice. Now, if you girls wouldn't mind helping us out with the decorations...", Tommy let his voice trail off

"Not a problem.", Kat said

"Ok then. We could use you over here.", Tommy said pointing in a non- decorated area

They spent the next 20 minutes decorating the Youth Center. Finally, they were finished.

Carri used Ernie's phone to dial her house.

"Hello?", Tanya asked

"Tanya, it's me, Carri. You need to get down to the Youth Center right now. It's Adam. He's been hurt.", Carri lied

"Oh no! I'll be right there.", said a concerned Tanya

Tanya and Carri both hung up the phone.

"Ok guys, she fell for it.", Carri announced

"I knew she would. Anyone would drop everything for me.", Adam said

"Hit the lights.", Rocky ordered

Ernie turned off the lights and everyone hid somewhere. It only took Tanya a few minutes to get there. She rushed through the door.

"Adam?", she asked, then waited for someone to answer

All of the sudden the lights came on and all at once, what sounded like a million voices yelled, "SURPRISE!"

"You mean, this was all a trick to get me here?", Tanya asked

"It worked didn't it?", Adam wanted to know

"Well, yeah.", Tanya paused to get a good look at the Youth Center. "This place looks great."

"Thank you. The decorating is courtesy of me, Adam and Tommy.", Rocky informed her

Carri grabbed Tanya by the arm and dragged her to her cake. "Look at this."

"Oh you guys, you didn't have to do this.", Tanya said with tears forming in her eyes

"Yes we did.", Adam said as he leaned over and kissed her

"Come on, let's cut the cake.", Rocky said

"Is all you think about food?", Carri asked

"Food, sports, and you. That'd about cover it.", Rocky said

"Well, as long as I'm in there.", Carri told him

Everyone laughed and Tanya started to cut the cake.

The party flew by quickly. Eventually, it was 3:45.

Beep Beep BeepBeep Beep Beep.

"Oh man, can't we just have one afternoon of peace?", Tommy asked to no one in particular

"We'll be right back.", Adam said as he and the other Rangers walked off

"What is it Alpha?", Tommy asked, although he was pretty sure of the answer

"King Mondo has sent Led Head to Angel Grove Park. You must go there immediately.", Alpha told them

Billy quickly teleported to the Power Chamber. Tommy looked around to make sure all eyes were still on Tanya.

"You got it. Its morphin time!", Tommy yelled

"ZEO RANGER I, PINK!"

"ZEO RANGER II, YELLOW!"

"ZEO RANGER III, BLUE!"

"ZEO RANGER IV, GREEN!"

"ZEO RANGER V, RED!"

And just like that the Power Rangers were gone and off to save the world again.

"We need Zeo Zord power, now!", yelled Tommy

All of the Zeo Zords came out and the Rangers jumped into their right Zords. Tommy brought them all together, in hopes for a quick defeat and a quick return to the party.

The Zeo Zord fought with Led Head. Led Head had the Zord down, but Tommy pulled out a new toy Billy gave him.

The Rangers stood the Zord back up again. This new "toy" was a new weapon. It surprised Led Head, and the Rangers brought him down

"That took longer than expected.", Adam apologized when they got back to the Youth Center

"That's ok.", Tanya accepted his apology. "Well, it's time for me to go."

Ernie came over and gave Tanya a big hug. "We'll miss you around here."

"I'll miss you too.", she told Ernie. "Thank you for this opportunity."

"Anytime.", Ernie said

"Well, I guess we'd better go. We're all seeing you off you know.", Adam said

"I figured as much.", Tanya said

"I'm not going to the airport. I have some work at um... home.", Billy said, embarrassed that he couldn't think of anything better.

"Well Billy, I won't keep you.", Tanya said. Then she walked over and hugged him. "Thanks. You made my job easier."

"Hey, that's what I'm here for.", Billy told her. "Good-bye Tanya."

Billy went off outside, and Tanya looked until she saw a faint white mark going through the sky.

"I guess I have to go now.", Tanya said, tears beginning to form in her eyes

Tanya put her arm around Adam as she walked out of the Youth Center for one last time.

Adam, Tanya and Kat piled into one car while Rocky, Carri and Tommy piled into another. They were all on their way to Angel Grove International Airport.

"Well, we're here.", Adam let Tanya know

"Let me get my stuff.", Tanya said

"No, let me. You go join the others.", Adam insisted

"But there's a lot of stuff.", Tanya told him

"I'll help.", Kat offered

"See. Between the two of us, we can get your stuff.", Adam said

"Ok.", Tanya gave in as she headed toward her friends

"How did you sucker Adam and Kat into carrying your bags?", Carri asked

"They offered.", Tanya told her

"Woah, Adam's being a real gentleman. I must live up to his standards.", Rocky said, then stopped to think for a minute. "Then again..."

"Are you saying that if that was me, you wouldn't be doing the same thing?", Carri questioned

"Of corse I would.", Rocky told her

"That's what I thought.", Carri said

Adam and Kat collected the last of the bags and made their way towards everyone else.

"Having fun?", Tommy asked

Adam rolled his eyes. "Not really. What have you got in here?"

"Everything.", Tanya said

"Go figure.", said Adam

Tanya had her friends drag her bags to the luggage check in area. She got the tags put on her bags and the people took them to her plane.

"Oh darn, I don't have to carry them the rest of the way.", Adam said

"Adam, I know how much you'll miss that joy.", Tanya joked

"Oh yes.", Adam said as they made their way into the airport.

"So, where's your gate?", Kat asked

"C 11.", Tanya informed her

"Well, let's head in that direction.", Tommy said

Adam put his arm around Tanya as they walked the brief walk to the gate.

"C 11. Here we are.", Carri announced

"Now boarding the 5 o'clock flight to New York.", said one of the employees

"Well, I guess this is good-bye.", Tommy said

"For now.", said Tanya

Her friends had grouped around her in a semi-circle, going Tommy, Rocky, Carri, Kat and Adam. Tanya walked up to Tommy first and hugged him.

"I'm going to miss you.", Tanya said

"You were a great part of our team. It's going to take some getting used to not seeing you as #2.", Tommy said

Tanya walked over and hugged Rocky next. "Well Rocky, you sure have made my stay in Angel Grove fun. I'm going to miss your obnoxious jokes."

"I'm not sure if I should take that as a complement or not.", Rocky joked. "We'll miss you around here, you know."

Tanya walked next to Carri. Even though they didn't know each other as well as they thought would, they hugged.

"I'm glad I stayed around long enough to meet you.", Tanya started. "Now, you take care of the team and," she leaned over and whispered in her ear, "help keep Adam in check."

"You know I will. On both accounts. But you know I'm going to enjoy the second thing more.", Carri said as she glanced at Adam

Tanya laughed as she moved over to Kat.

"Thank you. For everything. You have done more for me than anyone.", Tanya told her

Kat hugged her friend. "I enjoyed having you live with my family. I'm going to miss our late night chats, and most of all, just you being there."

They hugged one more time before Tanya moved over to her boyfriend.

"We're going to make this long distance thing work. I know it.", Tanya said

"I'll write, and call, and I'll come visit whenever I get a chance.", Adam promised

Adam and Tanya hugged and then they kissed. Adam just stood there holding Tanya in his arms.

"Final boarding call for the 5 o'clock flight to New York.", the employee said

Tanya and Adam got together for one last kiss before Tanya had to leave.

"Good-bye guys!", she yelled as she walked to the plane

"Bye Tanya!", they yelled back, then at once they said, "Good luck!"

Tanya took one last look at her friends as she walked to the plane. They were all waving. Tommy and Kat were sneaking glances at each other, neither one of them knowing how the other one felt. Rocky had his arms around Carri. And then there was Adam. Poor Adam. He looked so heartbroken. Tanya handed the lady her ticket. Then she boarded her plane, thinking about her friends every step of the way.

Everyone stayed at the airport until they saw the plane leave. Rocky noticed the look on Adam's face and he walked over and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, I promise everything will work our for you guys.", Rocky tried to comfort him

"I hope you're right.", Adam said

"I know I'm right.", Rocky said, although he wasn't completely sure. Then he walked back to Carri and left Adam to his thoughts.

"Hey, as long as we're in the area, let's go out to eat.", Rocky suggested

"Food? Jeeze.", Carri joked with Rocky. "Why not.", Carri agreed

"Well, I'm there.", said Tommy

Kat brightened up when Tommy said that. "I'm coming."

"Hey Adam, you coming?", Rocky asked

"No. I think I'll just go home and eat.", Adam declined the offer

"Hey, I expect to see you at my house at 7.", Rocky said

"I might come.", Adam said

"Hey, a little Astro crushing is enough to cheer every one up.", Rocky told him, more to tease Carri than to cheer up Adam

"Excuse me little Anti-Astro, don't get your hopes up.", Carri said

"I don't know. I'll think about it.", Adam said

"Ok.", Rocky finally gave in

Carri threw one arm around her cousin. "Well Kat, like it or not you're coming with us."

"Great.", Kat sarcastically teased her

Carri and Kat walked ahead of the boys and to the car.

Tommy and Rocky walked slower, hoping Adam would at least catch up and walk with them. Instead, he stayed behind and watched the planes come and go.

"Adam's worrying me.", Rocky said as he and Tommy sped up to catch the girls

"He just needs a little alone time. He just lost the one girl he loved the most. Tomorrow morning, he'll be his old self.", Tommy told him

"I guess your right.", Rocky said

It was the 9th inning, and the score was tied at zero. Adam, of corse, hadn't shown. But Tommy, Kat, Billy, and of corse Rocky and Carri, were there.

"Ha. The bases are loaded.", Carri bragged

"So. Two out, Worell vs. Spires. No contest.", Rocky said

"Statistics point to Worell on this one.", Billy pointed out

"That's what you said yesterday.", Carri reminded him

Spires hit the ball, and it went really, really far.

"Keep going.", Carri said

"Come on wind, stop it.", Rocky muttered

"Keep going.", Carri repeated

"Stay ball.", Rocky pleaded

"Oh no.", Tommy whined as the ball sailed over the fence

"YES!", Carri yelled

"Well, statistics aren't always right.", Billy told them

"Any statistic that points against the Astros is totally off.", Carri told him

"Whatever. Your team just gets lucky.", Rocky said

"Isn't that the truth.", Tommy said

"Luck has nothing to do with it.", Carri boasted

"Look, he struck Ausmus out." Kat let everyone in on what happed while they argued

"I see. Now you decide to use the heater.", Rocky complained

"Hey, there's still hope.", Tommy started, "Karros, Piazza, and Gagne are coming up."

"Not with Wagner in.", Carri said

"Actually...", Billy started

"Don't say it.", Carri interrupted

"Eric, Eric," Rocky started to chant

"Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric.", Tommy joined in

"Billy, Billy, Billy.", responded Carri with emphasis on that last "y"

"Why did he swing at the ball in the dirt?", Kat wondered aloud

"Cause he sucks.", Carri said

"Come on Eric!", Tommy yelled

"Hey, that was a ball!", complained Rocky, extemely ticked with Kellogg's call

"K, K, K.", whispered Carri

Rocky put a hand over her mouth. "Us Dodger fans are sick of hearing your negative remarks."

Carri just shrugged her shoulders and let Rocky keep his hand there. Everyone watched as Karros struck out. All Carri was able to do was pump one fist in the air.

"Much better, don't you think?", Rocky commented on Carri's involuntary silence

"Now I can put down the Astros in peace.", Tommy joked

Carri stepped on his foot.

"Guys, you may have stopped her from talking, but you didn't stop her from listening.", Billy reminded them

"Oh.", Rocky said. Then he put his free hand on her ear. Tommy put a hand of his on her other ear.

"Better.", Tommy said

Carri was extremely ticked off. Shutting her up was one thing, but not letting her hear? Carri put her hands behind the boys arms, and with one sweeping motion, pushed their hands away.

"Now, I think I'd like to finish the game from over here.", Carri said as she got up and walked to the other side of the couch. "There, there's a couch between us."

There was a few seconds of silence before Rocky cried out, "Mike! You are my idol! How could you do this to me."

"Statistics, statsmistics.", Carri said, "Hey Billy, what were the chances on Mike striking out?"

Billy told her, "Well, 2% if Billy is having a good day and 0.5% if he's not."

"2%.", Carri muttered

"We've still got Greg. He's good.", Tommy said

By this time everyone had tuned around and was looking at Carri, except for Kat. "Um Tommy, I hate to break this to you, but unless you call striking out good...", Kat got interrupted

"Yes! Billy, Billy, Billy!", Carri yelled

"Pure luck. I'm telling you, this has been your week. Any normal week, this wouldn't have happened.", Rocky said

"I'm afraid Rocky's right. After all, the statistics do say...", Billy was cut off by Tommy

"That the Dodgers rule and the Astros are at the bottom of the food chain.", he finished off

"Well, next time I'm watching what team I bet on.", Kat announced

"That's right, you guys owe me money.", Carri told a bunch of dejected looking teens. "Come on, pay up."

The four grumbled and growled as they slowly put the money in her hands. Carri turned around and counted her money. When she saw she had it all, she folded it and put it in her back pocket. Then, someone came up behind her and grabbed her.

"You know, I think you and I need to have a little talk over who to cheer for.", Rocky whispered in her ear

"Oh, so you're converting?", Carri asked

"Nope. But I bet I can convince you to.", Rocky informed her

"I doubt it. Come, sit, let's talk.", Carri said walking toward the couch

"No, not here.", Rocky whispered, "I was thinking a little more like a walk along the beach. Then maybe we could go grab a bite to eat. Your treat of corse.", he joked

Carri rolled her eyes, then she got serious. "I'd like that."

"Then what are we waiting for?", he said aloud as he grabbed her hand and led her out the door, "Oh, you guys can stay as long as you want.", he yelled while he was walking out the door, "Just be out before I get back."

"Be home a little later Kat.", Carri yelled as she walked out

Kat almost asked a million questions out of curiosity, but she declined. She and Carri both knew she was going to play 20 questions when she got back.

"I wonder where they went?", Tommy asked

"Who knows.", said Kat

"I'm headed back to the Power Chamber. You guys want to come?", Billy asked, then he noticed the why look on their faces, "I was working on something really superb for the zords and it would help if I had your input."

With that, Kat and Tommy's looks changed from why to why not.

"Sounds good. Let's go.", said Kat

"Ok. So are you going to tell us, or keep us in suspense?", Tommy asked

Billy replied, "Surprises are good for the soul." And with that, he was gone.

Tommy and Kat exchanged looks and quickly teleported after him.

Kat morphed home around 10:30. She sat up and waited for Carri to come home. It was about 11:30 or so before Carri finally wandered through the door.

"So?", Kat asked

"I think I'm in love.", Carri said as she sunk into one of the couch pillows.

Kat's eyebrows rose a little. "Love you say?", she asked

Carri nodded her head yes. Carri looked so happy that anyone who happened to walk into the room would know how she felt.

"So? Are you going to tell all or what?", asked Kat

Carri remembered what a great night she had. Then a smile crossed her face as she began to tell her cousin all.

The next day Carri and Kat got up early and went to the mall for a shopping spree. Rocky and Tommy took their down and out friend to do some guy things. This didn't hurt the girls feelings one bit. They hit every store in the mall, and it only took them five hours. After they were done for the day, they headed over to the Youth Center, hoping to find the boys.

Guessing that they would find the boys at the Youth Center was right on the money. But, where else would they be after spending the majority of their day doing "guy" things.

Carri and Kat wondered into the Youth Center at around 3:30. Both girls were wearing their new shades. They noticed that Tommy and Rocky were sparring, as usual. Adam was sitting at a table, having no real interest for sparring at the moment.

Carri and Kat both pushed their shades on the top of their heads when they were well in the door. Kat walked over to watched the boys spar and Carri decided she could do the most good cheering up Adam.

Carri went over and sat beside Adam, who was facing the fight. "Hey Adam, what's up?"

Adam looked up, as if Carri had just yanked him out of a deep trance. "Oh, hi Carri."

"Hey, cheer up. It's a new day.", she said

"There's not to much to be cheerful about.", Adam told her

"So you didn't have fun doing quote, guy things?"

"Well yeah, but.."

"And you have to admit today has been an awful calm day."

"True, but..."

"And all of you Anti-Astros get to keep your 10 dollars today."

That got a smile out of Adam. "Ok, so today hasn't been that bad."

"Come on Adam, I know you're down. Talk to me."

"I don't really want to discuss it."

"Come on Adam, that's what I'm here for."

"Thanks for being here, but I really prefer not to talk about it."

"You know that's not good."

"Well, I talked to Rocky and Tommy..."

"Then you can talk to me."

Adam just shook his head no and looked away. Carri shrugged her shoulders and went over to watch Rocky and Tommy, who were just finishing up round three of their "fight".

"Gotcha that time.", Rocky said triumphantly

"Yeah well, we all get lucky.", Tommy said

"Way to go Rocky.", Carri said

Rocky looked over, so absorbed in his sparring that he didn't even notice before that Carri and Kat had come in.

Rocky walked over to Carri and put his arms around her. "My good luck charm has arrived. You don't stand a chance Oliver.", he announced

"Only time will tell.", Tommy said

Rocky noticed the new shades on Carri's head and removed his arms from her waist so he could take them off. Rocky put her glasses on.

"What do you think?", Rocky asked her

"You could pass by in those, I suppose.", Carri told him

"Yeah, I know. I look great in everything I wear.", he complimented himself

"That's not exactly what I was headed to.", Carri muttered

"What?", Rocky said

"Nothing.", Carri replied

Rocky handed Carri back her glasses and she put them back on her head.

"So where did you get these?", Rocky wondered

"The mall.", Carri replied

"You were at the mall?", Rocky asked

Carri rolled her eyes. "I was just there for 5 hours."

"Oh.", Rocky said

"Ready to go for round 4?", Tommy asked

"You betcha.", Rocky said as he stepped back onto the mat

The boys shook hands and then jumped into fighting position. Carri walked over to where Kat was standing and they stood together and watched.

Carri started talking about nothing in particular. "I can't believe Camelot has jacked up the prices, again. If it weren't for Blockbuster, I'd be living at Best Buy right now. And can you believe we ran into Bulk and Skull in the food court? Of all the people we could see. And was it just me or did Skull get awfully nervous when he said something directly to me. I think he has a crush on me."

Carri looked over at Kat and noticed that she had been nodding her head yes and saying uh-huh the whole time. Carri followed her gaze and, not to her surprise, it ended up on Tommy.

Carri leaned over and whispered something it Kat's ear. "Someday."

Kat looked away from Tommy and over at her cousin, who by that time and turned all of her attention to Rocky. She took at minute to process what she had told her. She didn't realize how obvious she was being.

"Alright, nice going!", Carri cheered for Rocky

"Score one for the blue guy.", Rocky said

"Ok, no more mister nice guy. It's me and you, right here, right now.", Tommy informed Rocky

Rocky was heading for water but he turned around at the sound of his friends challenge.

"Your on.", he said

Both boys jumped right into their fighting stance and had at it. After all it was the 5th round, winner takes all.

Tommy really kicked into full force. He and Rocky went at it for what seemed like forever. Rocky was beginning to look like he had the edge, but Tommy pulled out a new move and a surprised Rocky went down.

Kat clapped for her friend and Carri made a face. Tommy helped Rocky up and they both shook hands.

"Nice try.", Tommy said

"Hey, there's always next time.", Rocky told him

Rocky went over to Carri and put an arm around her, but she pushed it right back off.

"You're ten times sweatier than you were a few minutes ago. Take a shower, and then you can put your arm around me.", Carri informed him

Rocky apologized. "I didn't know I was sweating that much."

"It's ok.", she accepted his apology

Rocky looked at the clock, which now read 3:55. "Oh man, I have to go take a quick shower before 4:30!", he exclaimed

"Why?", Carri questioned

"Because I've got to go to work.", Rocky explained

"Oh.", she said

Rocky looked over and noticed Adam was still depressed looking.

"I really should go talk to Adam before I leave.", he said

"I tried to talk to him, but he's not really willing to open up to me.", Carri told Rocky

"I wouldn't worry about that to much. He's extremely shy. He still has problems with telling Tommy everything.", Rocky told her

"That makes me feel a little better.", Carri thought aloud. "So, if he's shy and you're loud, how did you guys ever hook up?"

"That's a long story. Remind me, and I'll tell it to you when I have time. But, now I don't. I've really got to run. See ya.", Rocky said as he gave Carri a quick kiss and ran out the door

Carri walked back over to Adam's table where Kat and Tommy had migrated.

"Hey guys, let's go to the beach.", she suggested

"Why?", Kat asked

"Because, I need to do 2 things that New York just doesn't provide me with.", Carri said

"Rocky and?", Tommy asked

Carri hit him. "A tan, and waves.", she told him. "You've still got my surfboard don⦣128;™t you?"

"Right next to mine.", Kat said

"Well, I'd like to do some surfing, what do you say?", Carri said

"Why not. This will be my chance to prove to you once and for all that I am the better of the two.", Kat said

Carri snickered. "Keep dreaming."

"You should use your own advice.", said Kat as she walked out the door

"We'll see.", said Carri as she followed her

"Surfing. Sounds like fun. You in?", Tommy asked Adam

"I don't know.", he told him

"Adam...", Tommy protested

"Ok. Besides, it'll be interesting to watch the girls settle the score.", Adam said

"Wanna put money on it?", asked Tommy

Adam stood up. "Sure."

"I've got 10 on Kat. I know she's the best in Angel Grove.", Tommy claimed

"That's Angel Grove my friend. I have a feeling Carri has a few tricks up her sleeve."

"I take it you've got your 10 on her?"

"Yup."

Just then Carri ducked in the door.

"You guys coming?", she asked

Tommy and Adam nodded their heads yes as they headed out the door.

The first of three stops on the way to the beach was made at Kat and Carri's house. Tommy and Adam sat in the jeep while Carri and Kat went in to get their stuff. Both of them walked up to their rooms and changed into their bathing suits. While Kat was in her room, she grabbed her wetsuit and one for Carri.

Carri was the first one dressed. She went downstairs and sat on the couch.

"Take this.", Kat said tossing her the wetsuit. "Now follow me, I⦣128;™ve got one more thing for you."

Carri followed Kat down to the basement.

"Here you go.", Kat said as she handed Carri her surfboard

Carri took it, and examined it for a few minutes.

"Let's do it.", she said as she walked up the stairs

Kat was quick to follow. They rushed out to the jeep where Tommy and Adam had been waiting for 15 minutes. The both hopped in and got the greeting they expected.

"It took you long enough.", whined Tommy

"Yeah. Stuff like this only takes us men a minute or two.", Adam agreed

"That's because we care enough about what we do to take our time.", Carri said

"Yeah. Life isn't always a race.", Kat informed them

"But getting dressed...", Tommy started but decided not to finish

Soon enough they were at Tommy's house, then Adam's. The boys took a total of 10 minutes to get ready.

"It's off to the beach.", announced Carri once Adam climbed back into the jeep

"Combined, me and Tommy took half the time you guys took.", Adam said

"Nobody asked you.", said Carri as Tommy laughed and headed toward the beach

"We're here.", said Tommy as he parked the jeep

Carri was the first one to leap out of Tommy's jeep. She reached around back and grabbed her surfboard. Kat jumped out with almost as much enthusiasm and Carri did. Tommy and Adam got out of the car keeping their "cool" composure.

After everyone was ready to go to the beach Carri said, "Well, what are we waiting for?"

The four teenagers walked down the coastline. It was only 4:25, and they didn't expect to see Rocky, but Carri was looking anyway. Eventually though, her thoughts were concentrated only on the beach. She was interrupted only by Tommy, claiming he'd found the perfect spot on the sand.

"What's so special about right here?", Carri asked

"You play volleyball?", Tommy questioned

"You know it.", Carri told him

"Well, I've got us a spot right by the net.", Tommy said

"So, we don't have a ball. That might help a little.", Carri said rolling her eyes

"This is the net that the lifeguards set up. The lifeguard in the tower in front of the net, in this case tower 12, has the ball.", Adam explained

"Oh.", said Carri feeling rather stupid, a feeling which she quickly got over

"I guess since the court's free we should take advantage of it.", Tommy said

"I agree.", said Kat

Both Adam and Carri nodded in agreement.

The teens threw their towels and wetsuits onto the beach. Carri elected to be the one to go into the tower and ask for the ball.

Carri walked up the ramp and ducked her head into the tower.

"Excuse me.", she said politely to the second best looking guy she'd seen since she arrived in Angel Grove.

The guy turned to face her. He was tall, with an awesome tan. Must've been working all summer. He had dirty blond hair and blue eyes.

"Can I help you?", he asked

"My friends and I are looking to play a little volleyball.", Carri told him

The guy went to get the ball. He started to hand it to her. When Carri went over to grab it he yanked it back.

"Can I trust you with our sacred volleyball?", he joked

"We won't kill it. Promise.", she said

"Ok then. Here you go.", he said handing it to her

"Thank you.", she said

Carri turned to walk out the door and who did she run into but Rocky.

"Hey.", she greeted him

"Hey. What are you doing here?", he asked

"Jeeze. Come for a little fun in the sun and you make it sound like I'm not wanted.", Carri said

"I didn't mean for it to come out like that, I meant...", Rocky started before he was interrupted

"I know what you meant.", Carri said., "You know, out of all the towers on the beach, we picked the one where you were working. How about that."

"It's a pleasant surprise.", Rocky told her

"So you've changed your mind, you want me here now.", she teased

"I guess you can stay.", Rocky jokingly said, then he noticed the volleyball. "You any good?", he asked

"That's for me to know...", she started

"And me to find out.", Rocky finished

"Ah hem.", said the lifeguard behind them

"Oh, I'm sorry. You going on the beach?", Rocky asked him

"Yeah.", he said

Rocky walked all the way into the tower and threw his stuff down beside the other guy's.

The other lifeguard started to speak, but Rocky interrupted him.

"I know, keep an eye on your stuff. After a year of rookie school working under you, one would think you wouldn't have to keep telling me that.", Rocky said

"Actually I wanted an introduction to this lovely lady you keep talking to.", he said

"Oh, sorry. Cody, this is my girlfriend, Carri Hillard. Carri, this is my closest friend on staff, Cody Madison.", Rocky introduced them

Carri and Cody both extended their hands and were engaged in a handshake.

"Nice to meet you.", Cody said

"Nice to meet you too.", said Carri

"I guess I'll be seeing more of you around here.", Cody said

Carri responded, "As long as I'm in Angel Grove, you'll be seeing me."

"Ok then. See ya.", said Cody as he left. Then he yelled back up to the tower, "Hey Rocky, Jake has us down working some overtime hours out on the water, from 7 to 9."

Jake of corse being the boys boss of 5 years.

"Unrequested overtime?", Rocky yelled back

"You got it.", Cody said

"Hey, for what we get paid for going out on the water, it's worth it.", Rocky said

"You know it.", Cody said

"See ya at 7.", yelled Rocky

"Ok.", Cody yelled as he jogged on down the beach

"Well, I was only supposed to be up here long enough to get the ball, so...", Carri's voice trailed off

"I'd hate for Tommy to have Alpha doing a search for you.", Rocky joked

Rocky leaned over and gave Carri a quick kiss then she proceeded on down the to the beach.

"I got the ball!", she yelled

"It's about time.", said Tommy

"Hey, I was chatting with Rocky. Give me a break.", Carri defended herself

"Rocky's working here?", said Kat

"Did you guys not see him walk in?", Carri said

"Nope.", said Adam

Carri muttered, "Hopeless."

"What?", asked Tommy as he went to grab the ball

"Nothing.", she said

The group split up 2 on 2. Carri and Adam went up against Tommy and Kat. Carri had first serve. When she looked up, she saw Rocky sitting on a chair outside of the tower, watching his water, and every once in a while, her.

"Game point!", Carri yelled as she threw the ball up. Carri brought her arm up and completed her best serve of the day.

The ball went flying over the net. Kat, who was playing back, got on one knee and yelled, "I got it!"

And she did, with not a second to spare. Tommy the spiked the ball, which had been bumped high enough to have been set, over the net.

The move caught both Adam and Carri off guard, but not long enough to matter. Carri made a leaping stab at the ball. Thankfully, she dove for it with just enough time to spare. She hit it up into the afternoon air, but not high enough for Adam to spike. Adam had to set the ball. As soon as Carri realized what was going on, she leaped to her feet and came through with the best spike of her life.

Both Kat and Tommy dove and fell to the ground attempting to get the ball.

"Ha! We win!", yelled Carri

Tommy and Kat were both sitting in the sand at this point, neither one really wanting to get up and face defeat.

"Aw, poor Tommy.", Carri said putting our her lower lip

"You know, if you guys could just play half as well as we did...", started Adam

Tommy hopped to his feet. "Aw, shut up!", he joked

Kat got up seconds after Tommy. "We, we, we... let you win, that's it!", she exclaimed

"Yeah!", Tommy agreed

Adam and Carri looked at each other and at the same time said, "Whatever."

From what seemed like out of no where the four heard clapping.

When they turned around, it was Rocky making all that noise.

"Way to go.", he congratulated from the tower

"For future references, you were not a witness to this embarrassing event.", Tommy said while pointing his finger at Rocky

"Yes I was.", Rocky told him

Carri stuck her tongue out at Tommy, who was jokingly muttering something about Rocky.

"I love you too Rocky!", Tommy yelled at Rocky

"I'm just lovable like that.", he replied

Tommy yelled back, "Just watch your water!"

Carri looked out at the ocean for a few seconds. "Well, the waves look good. What do you say we go for it?", she asked Kat

"You're on.", they both grabbed their boards and headed for the ocean before Kat stopped and said, "Wait a minute, how are we judging this?"

"The most creative wins.", Carri said

"How do you suggest we judge this?", Kat asked

Carri thought for a moment. "You can go first. Me, Tommy and Adam will judge you. Then I'll go."

"Ok.", Kat agreed

"You know what to look for?", Carri asked the boys

"We know enough to get us by.", Tommy said

"Then it's settled. Wish me luck.", said Kat as she ran off into the ocean

"Well boys, what do you think?", Carri asked

Kat started up the beach towards her friends, but Carri motioned for her to stay.

"I'll have to admit, it was pretty good.", Adam said

"Not quite a 10, but not a 9 either.", Carri said

"That move she did on that wave was pretty awesome.", Tommy said

"It was. But I think, now Carri correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that we must mark down a little for almost falling off the board.", Adam said

Carri looked deep in thought for a second. "You're right. I think we should give her a 9.2."

Tommy argued, "That's a little low. I think it's more like a 9.6."

"Way two high. She had some small flaws in her performance.", Carri said

"Let's compromise. How about a 9.4?", said Adam

Tommy and Carri nodded in agreement. Then Carri motioned to Kat to come back in.

Kat approached the group and said, "So, what did I get?"

"Kat!", exclaimed Carri, "I'm surprised. You know the rules."

And with that Carri ran down the beach to show off her own skills.

Carri hopped out of the water but was motioned by Kat to stay put.

"So?", Adam asked

"Not bad. She looked as though she'd been practicing. But she left a lot out. She used to have a ton of more tricks up her sleeve.", Kat informed them

"There's more?", a surprised Tommy asked

"You know I don't blame her for not preforming them all. After all, she hasn't done this in 3 years.", Kat told them

Adam asked, "Did she compete with you?"

"Once. She came to Australia for a competition and won first when she was 13. Then she decided she had more fun pitching in baseball and left the surfing to me. Which I did for about another year until I decided I was more interested in diving.", she told him

"She plays baseball?", Adam asked

"She did. She played on rec teams. You know, I think the year she beat me was one of her last years playing.", Kat said

Tommy stood there for a second. "You're the best surfer in Angel Grove."

"Thanks Tommy. As long as she doesn't compete, I may be able to pull that off for a few more years.", Kat joked, "Anyway, scores?"

"9.7.", Adam said

"9.5. She did have a little mistake. It's one of those you'd have to be a pro to notice.", Kat said

Tommy thought for a moment before deciding. "9.6. I didn't see any flaws, but I trust Kat, so that's why I think what I think."

"Then it's settled. 9.6 it is. Come on Carri!", Kat yelled waving for her cousin to come forward

Carri ran up the beach to her friends. "What did you think?", she asked

"You go first.", Kat said

"Ok. Well, the boys and I reviewed your performance very hard. We have come to the decision that you should receive a 9.4 because of your one slip up in technique.", Carri informed her

"Sounds fair. Now for you. You could've had a perfect 10. One big flaw with a few little ones tied in.", Kat started

Carri pouted. "I know, the, um, what did we call it? Oh yeah! The thrid wave routine!"

"3rd wave routine?", Tommy questioned

"We had wacky names for moves we did when we were kids. Don't ask.", Carri told him

"Anyway, that's the one. I won't doubt that you can still do it to perfection. But trying to do it on your first time out was, well..."

"Risky?", she filled in

"To say the least. Anyway we have given you a 9.6.", Kat announced

"A 9.6? Well what do you know. I've still got it.", said Carri as she walked over to her towel and set down her board

"Surfing tomorrow?", Kat asked as she joined her cousin

"You betcha.", Carri said

Tommy and Adam came up behind them. Tommy put his head down and looked like a little puppy dog.

"Yes, you can come too.", Carri told them

"Alright!", Tommy exclaimed as he and Adam exchanged high fives

Kat giggled. "Over excitement."

"Seriously.", Carri said

"So, what next?", asked Adam

"Next," Carri started as she took off her wetsuit, "Kat and I are going to lay here and tan."

"Well what about us?" asked Tommy

"Um, let's see here.", said Kat as she flung her wetsuit on the ground

The girls threw down the towels and sat on them.

Carri thought of some ideas. "Well, you could grab the ball back from Rocko and practice or play. Or you could spar."

Adam and Tommy looked at each other. "Volleyball.", they said at the same time

"Why not spar?", Carri asked

"Well, we can do that at the Youth Center." said Tommy

"True. Alright then. Have at it.", said Carri as she threw on her shades. Then she turned over on her stomach and buried her head in her hands. Kat lay down on her back while Tommy and Adam went to get the ball.

Kat turned her head toward Carri. She was dying to know her secret. "How do you get Tommy to listen to you?"

Carri smiled. "Easy. Speak with authority." And with that she dozed off.

Beep Beep BeepBeep Beep Beep.

Carri was jolted awake by the sound of her communicator going off.

"How long was I asleep?", she asked

"15 minutes.", Kat told her

"Not long enough.", Carri said as she flipped over to tan her front side for a while.

Beep Beep BeepBeep Beep Beep.

"So that's what woke me up.", muttered Carri

Carri jumped up and walked over to join Adam, Tommy, and Kat, who had gotten up just a few seconds earlier.

"Let's hear it.", Carri said

"Hang on, we're waiting for...", Tommy said but was interrupted

"Me. Sorry I took so long. I had to talk Cody into covering for me for a few minutes.", said Rocky as he rested his arm on his girlfriends shoulder

"Good, we're all here. Come on.", said Tommy as he led the group to a deserted spot of the beach behind a rock

"Go ahead Alpha.", Tommy said

"King Mondo has sent a hideous monster named Octi-Man into Angel Grove along with the cogs.", Alpha informed them

"We're on it Alpha.", Rocky said

"It's morphin time!", Tommy yelled after looking around to make sure they were still alone.

"ZEO RANGER I, PINK!"

"ZEO RANGER I, PINK!"

"ZEO RANGER III, BLUE!"

"ZEO RANGER IV, GREEN!"

"ZEO RANGER V, RED!"

And with that the 5 friends were off to save the world.
